Reacting to comments

First of all, from most the comments, you are assuming I am a one issue voter, a moron, or some kind of religious nut. You know nothing about me besides my very few posts on here, which I doubt you really read.

Second, do you really think that calling me names or grouping me together with others is going to make me change my mind about who I am voting for? That I will suddenly change teams and go vote for Team Obama? Really, all it does is prove to me that I'm voting for the right ticket.

Comments like this just crack me up:

Palin is a MORON. Says a lot if you support her !

Can you formulate a complete sentence or make an argument without calling someone names? Thank you for giving me a great reason to vote for Obama - because you say Palin is a Moron. Great argument.

Oh, I'm unsavvy. This one really hurts:
Its single minded and very, I mean verryy unsavvy.
I'm single minded because of one post. My particular post on life issues does not mean I am a single issue voter.

I'm not sure one this one means either. Someone had too much gin when they commented:
She does represent backwoods water drinking morons like you. Good luck.
I'm part of a cult! YAY! I didn't even know. I guess most cult members don't know. (Hmmmm....I think many of the Obots would fit into that category!)
the problem with the "Christan cult" is that they want to pass along there feelings and beliefs.
I don't think respect for human life is necessarily a Christian belief.

Here's another well thought out and humorous post:
LOL the wide eyed sheltered suburban "christian" women Here comes President Obama, get used to it. Mcsame and the MILF wrong place, wrong time
This is a lot of ASSuming about me:
Don't vote for someone you'd have a beer with, or want to babysit for. Vote for a leader with intellectual gifts and a sound temperament, and the grasp of economics that is required to steer us out of this crisis.
Hmmmm, where did I say I wanted to have a beer with any of the candidates? I don't even like beer. I also don't believe we need the government to steer us out of our financial crisis. Every time the government steps in, they create more problems.

As for the intellectual gifts...have you seen this?

I've never heard so much stuttering in my life. Especially from a person who is alleged to be such a gifted speaker. (I didn't even listen to the whole thing but apparently it goes on for about 7 minutes?)
I think you also engage in a fallacy of putting so much emphasis on the abortion issue, while ignoring the hundreds of thousands of deaths and and maimings that have occurred as a result of our needless and economically ruinous invasion of Iraq.
Sir, more humans have died from abortion than from Iraq. I also weigh the sad loss of lives in Iraq with how many would have died under the Hussein Regime. I am saddened for the loss of lives in Iraq and as I am true Pro Life (anti-death penalty, anti-abortion, anti-euthanasia, anti-war unless circumstances warrant), who is the better candidate for me? There is no perfect candidate for my needs. I do not focus on the Pro Life Issue and you would know that if you had browsed around my blog a little more.
then ultimately putting her babies' life on the line by not seeking medical attention and staying put until she delivered her pre-mature baby. I have seen babies and moms alike put in danger of loosing their lives because they ignored the fact that their sac ruptured.
I don't think she put her child's life on the line. She conferred with her dr and she made an informed choice about her situation. She had already given birth 4 times previously so I'm confident she did not make this decision lightly. (Again, why would someone pro-abortion, care if she puts her baby in danger anyway? I thought the motto was: Her body, her choice?)
Just because abortion is something you find soooo important, is not a reason to go vote for Republican due to Mrs. Palin.
I'm voting for McCain/Palin for many other reasons than pro-life issues.
I feel it would be very traumatic for a young girl to carry her fathers child inside of her. and deliver it. the incest alone is traumatic let alone living with it inside of you for 9 months. that is a sickening and degrading option.
You don't think it would be traumatic to know that you aborted a child that was half yours? It wouldn't be traumatic to know you killed a human life? Traumatic when several years down the road you can't have children and wondering what if....(happened to a friend.)

I'm not judging...I just don't want it to be legal...(I think many of the commentators on here have judged me! ;) )
abortion it is bad what gives you the right to judge.
Abortion is bad. I don't hate the person who has an abortion. I feel for them. I think it is sad that a person feels this is their only option. Or they are led to believe that is their only option.

Really? You think I am no wordly and ill travelled???? Someone is going to have get me a translator!
I can guarantee that the people on this blog and the person that started it are ignorant, ill travelled and non wordly.
You can guarantee it? I always wonder what people are thinking when they accuse someone of being ignorant all while having severe spelling and grammatical errors in their own comments. What is wordly? For the record, I have a Master's degree and I have traveled around the world. I have witnessed the poverty and witnessed the oppression. We have it too good here, people. Our poor are not poor. Poor is living on a dirt floor in a one room makeshift house, with trash and feces everywhere and wondering where your next meal is going to come from. Our poor are rich compared to normal living standards in the countries I've visited.

Shucks, You did get the mini van part right!
please get out of your mini van heads and super church mentality with a walmart and chilis in your back garden. please dont vote and keep your religious feelings to yourself
But you have the Walmart part wrong. I detest Walmart. Not sure I belong to a Super Church, though. I am of the same religion of Pelosi and Biden. Again, I don't recall where I've blogged about my religious feelings.

This one is just so beautifully written. Sandra Bernhardt is that you?
SHES A COLD COEWARDLY DEVIL WOMAN. SHE COULD BE THE ANTI-CHRIST. YOU WANT WWIII ? VOTE PALIN AND YOULL GET IT AND GOD IS NOT GONNA COME AND RESCUE CHRISTIANS. PALIN IS A C*NT
Nice. I'm more concerned that your candidate does not want the barbaric treatment of unborn life to be protected and didn't vote for the Partial Birth Abortion Ban.

This is a thought provoking comment because I am AGAINST the death penalty.
I would be interested in knowing how you feel about Gov. Palin's stance as pro-life when she is pro-death penalty. If the Bible says, "Thou shall not kill" then I don't think you can be selective. Saying that the death penalty is OK in "heinous" cases should be the equivalent of saying abortion is ok in certain cases. So, is she pro-life or pro-choice depending on the situation. No doubt a fetus is innocent, no doubt some terrible criminals are not, but who are we to pass the final judgement when God says that we should not.
I believe it is barbaric and should be outlawed. We have the capability as an advanced society to keep a criminal in prison for their entire lives. Back in the day before they had good prisons or a way to confine people, swift action to protect the people would be necessary and just. I don't believe it is necessary and I would rather protect that one person who might be innocent than kill 10 who were guilty. However, there is not a candidate who is against both the death penalty and abortion. It is a personal decision to weigh the needs of my anti-abortion stance and my anti-death penalty stance. To me, it comes down to numbers. More lives are lost from abortion than from capital punishment. I agree we should not pass final judgment. It is not up to us.

This one ends up with "God Bless You."
Because your hockey mom is stirring up so much hate for african americans. I expect to see lynchings come back into play. yes killing live human beings what your group deplores justified by a political campaign. Take a close look at the audience at the republican speeches. May god bless you all.
Will their be riots in the streets if Obama loses? I don't hate African Americans and I am not voting against Obama because he is half African American. I am not voting for him because he wants to take our country to socialism.

Smart one here (really!)
I deeply resent all the negative attacks on BOTH sides, this isn't right and what we all should be concerned and focused on is the Economy.
I hate all the negativity too. We need to stop. We need a true leader to step up and bring our country together. Neither one is doing it at this point. Even the chosen one, is not bringing people together.

I'm not sure how this one pertains to my blog:
This reminds me of the church behavior I witnessed from the pulpit growing up...lies about other church members angry and desperate..."judge not that ye be not judged"!
??????

I thought these were all arguments FOR Obama?
we dont need a "real person", we dont need someone who is "the kind of person you can sit down and have snacks with" you need an intellectual, which she isnt, you need someone level headed, she isnt, and most importantly, you dont need an outsider to the white house, you need someone who knows how things work, knows foreign policy, knows what to do and when to do it. she may be fine for a governor but she isnt not vice presidential material.
Knows Foreign Policy? Does Obama? I think the Democratic ticket is flipped if this is the case...it should be Biden/Obama.

Did you know that Michelle Obama worked?
I don't support Sarah Palin, I am a stay at home mom that has put my career on hold while I am doing the MOST important job! We can't have it all we have to make choices and I would have had a lot more respect for her if she had decided to pursue her political career, especially the vice presidency until her children were at least in school. I believe this for ALL moms unless you have to work to maintain the bills.
Many of us work. Feminists have fought for the right of women to choose to have it all. Sarah Palin has it all. Family and career. Why do people hate her so much for being able to do it all? Why does the same argument not apply to Obama? He has small children. Double standard anyone????

I'm an example of this, as I'm an atheist who voted for Ron Paul, a passionate Christian. I felt that he demonstrated humility and kindness and a profound understanding of economics. And he's incredibly experienced in both domestic and foreign policy issues.
Honestly, I wish Ron Paul were on the top of the ticket right now. He might sound like a kook but he has predicted some of the things that have happened in recent months.

This one stands out too.
I am a Republican but i am shocked that you would support a women that allows racist remarks at her rallys....you are no different....what you are is the KKK...This is why i do not go to church and that is because you are supposed to be about love and not hate.....remember jesus forgave everyon.......practice what you preach
I don't preach anything. Keep on saying you are a Republican, you aren't fooling me!

Again, I wasn't the one on the CNN interview.
LOL, Palin is a simple minded racist baby factory.
Beautiful comment. Sorry, I stop reading comments after a paragraph starts out with words like that.

Oops, I couldn't help myself...I kept reading...
I laugh at morons like you. God damn you jesus freaks!
I think I lost brain cells reading that garbage.
Birds of a feather flock together. Airheads!
I think I will end on that note since the rest of the comments just seem to be more of the same! You get the point, right? A few good comments mixed in with many ad hominem attacks!

I have to say at least Palin has enough backbone to stand up and represent what she believes in and delivers it in a passionate&heartfelt way. There is a level of transparency with her that I have never seen with any other politician. Sure I don't agree with her in regards to abortion rights..I do believe it is women option if she so desires to terminate..and I myself would not want to live with the pain of such a decision.
Obama never really delivers any meat to his answers that you can sink your teeth into&his waffling ways worry me along with his sketchy associations.
McCain on the other hand seems so far removed that I wonder if he knows which end is up?
Who out of either one of these tickets is looking out for us? I do not hear any answer from either side..
And Biden,well he's just Biden.
I have read some of the comments posted here from both sides & I have to say it is almost childish the attacks upon Palin. This woman deserves the utmost respect for standing up for what she believes in. I don't understand the rage against her..maybe there is underlying jealousy, who knows?

How can BHO supporters call Palin a Moron when their selected, not elected figurehead of a candidate has no experience whatsoever, out of all four candidates she is the only one with executive experience in running anything. BHO won’t be able to vote present 130 times if he becomes President like he has as Senator. I would like to hear one time a BHO supporter give an intelligent debate on the qualifications of BHO, & don’t say his economic plan, he has none, Illinois pension fund is 44 BILLION in debt, the worst in the Country! Chicago has the highest sales tax in the Country at 10.25%, & don’t say the war Chicago is a war zone with 292 murdered in the last 6 months, Iraq had less at 221 & they can’t blame the republicans for that because there aren’t any in Illinois. What he does show is bad judgment & no character by remaining in an anti-American racist church for 20 years & calling it’s Pastor his friend & mentor, not to mention William Ayers & the list goes on.

Yes I agree with Sara Palin 100% and so do many women in NJ. We are so relieved to finally have a candidate who is truly genuine in what she believes in. People are tired of candidates going back & fourth with topics just to please the crowd they are addressing that specific moment. Its funny how the media is trying so hard to find something negative about her and all I seen was false photos of her. Gimme a break! Proud NJ women for Palin!!! JeanMarie Ciabattoni

email to Christina, Tami, others who won't post rational arguements from older Christian women.....

those who are booted, please see my christansagainstsarahpalin blog

I, as a rational, Christian, higher-degreeed-but-always-home-when-my-kids-are-home, Southern Baptist mother and educator, have left at least five comments, very well put (I am a published author) comments which haven't been posted on the blog. I challenge you as Christian mothers to go to the Word. "Judge not lest ye be judged" is for real. Sarah Palin doesn't behave like a Christian, and you are harming the faith by supporting her publicly. She bashes others, and she lies. Her talk is smoke and mirrors. A Christian should never attack others. It is inappropriate, and if you are a true Christian you know this, to question one person who claims to be a believer, Obama, (because he is black? because he is a Democrat?) and take another, McCain, at his word.
You ladies hit me as new Christians. While I am thrilled I will see you in Heaven (notice I take you at your word that you are Christians, as it is only for Him to judge), I ask you to go in prayer to the Lord regarding gossip. Go to the word. See what he has to say about judging others, and the evils of the tongue.
My Democratic party membership represents in a public way some of the best precepts regarding my faith in Jesus. Lifting up others. Caring for the least of my brethern. A servant's heart. All of the proverbs---taking care of the prodigal with a joyful heart. Being the good Samaritan. Republicans do not do these things. Democrats do.
As an older Christian, I tried to blog my wisdom, but I never saw any of my posts. I have started churches in my time, raised children mine and not my own, served in my church, and spend much time on my knees. It is not difficult to see that narrow-mindness, judging, and supporting killing are anti-Biblical. Period. Your Lord would not have you bomb your enemies. He instructs you to love them. That doesn't involve killing them. That doesn't involve rationalizing. He tells you to love them. It takes much study and time in prayer to understand these things. I do not believe you, or Sarah Palin, as Republicans do. We as Christians are instructed to ALWAYS serve and care for the least of these. Yet, republicans are against social programs which do exactly that. Separation of church and state isn't biblical. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. You ladies need to actually understand this. My treasure, including, it is my prayer, my treasure as a citizen of this great nation, needs to be where it serves my breathern.
So, with not posting the blogs I have posted, I sense fear of freedom of speech, and closed-mindedness. Not Christian behavior, ladies. If you are truly in the word, you've NOTHING to fear, and peace in your hearts! Not politicians, not the economy, not anything.
I will be interested to see if you are able to respond to me, and I'll keep all of you in my prayers, specifically and by name, to have your hearts opened to His Word.
God bless you.

@ arealChristianmom - I have not deleted or moderated any comments. You are on the wrong blog if you think that.

@arealchristianmom - Many Republicans believe in helping the poor. We just don't believe the GOVERNMENT needs to be in charge of it. It is NOT the government's responsibility.

Republicans also believing in teaching people to fish instead of giving them the fish.

Your quote "Being the good Samaritan. Republicans do not do these things. Democrats do." Is very judgy. Take some of your own advice and don't be so judgmental against Republicans.

(Democrats always seem to be preaching open mindedness unless it goes against their beliefs. I find it very ironic.)

I love the video of Sarah in her pink pants with her witch doctor laying hands on her. Her policy regarding wolves is also admirable -- shooting them from helicopters and slaughtering puppies is just what we need in a leader. Glad you gals have found a soul mate in her. Has she dropped by to have cheez wiz with you lately?

This is for arealchirstianmom: For someone who thinks so highly of herself and touts such religious piety, you really ought to spend some time in the word yourself. Read and study things in context so that you are not misrepresenting the Word of God. As a Southern Baptist myself, it's disheartening to see someone so misguided in her beliefs and confirms my views that our church is failing it's people in discipling them in the knowledge and understanding of the scripture. God warns us to be watchful that we don't become like the Pharisies...take heed!

Pious! Goodness! Thank you...but you don't know me. I do however appreciate the compliment.
My church is not failing, my church is growing the kingdom! I don't think highly of myself, I know myself. This isn't a format for vanity. You've no idea how old I am, how long I've been a Christian, but I'm telling you this--Matthew reads "Judge not lest ye be judged" it also tells you to pluck the beam out of your own eye before you attempt to get the mote out of someone else's. It is not for you to tell me I am miguided. Shame on you. You don't know me!
Pharisies, indeed! And this is a blog about.....Sarah Palin!
Thanks for making my arguement for me, so beautifully.....
